National Geographic Explorer Mogamat Shamier Magmoet is a freediver, a rescue scuba diver, an underwater cinematographer, a photographer and a documentary filmmaker. He is also an ocean conservationist, a citizen scientist and an educator.

Shamier created this case study exemplar using the Explorer Case Study template, an OER tool developed by National Geographic for Explorers. He created the case study for a citizen science program and movement called “#SeatheBiggerPicture’s Defenders of the Blue Citizen Science Programme.” The case study organizes relevant information about his work into a story. Magmoet will use this case study to prepare presentations, write grant proposals and communicate about his work with a variety of audiences.
