Last Strongholds

Protected habitats have provided tiger populations the best chances of survival. The big cats need a range large enough to allow for safe passage between breeding areas and hunting grounds, and to avoid of human contact.

protected area where wildlife can live and breed without threat from hunting.

noun

native, geographic area in which an organism can be found. Range also refers to the geographic distribution of a particular species.

stronghold
noun

a place of security or survival

wildlife reserve
noun

area set aside and protected by the government or other organization to maintain wildlife habitat. Also called a nature preserve.
