Learning materials

Indigenous Peoples have lived in North America for thousands of years. Their languages and cultural traditions vary and each group has a unique history.

In this activity, students will investigate the variety and distribution of Indigenous Peoples across the North American landscape. They will use layered data to consider the relationship of Indigenous Peoples to the physical geography and biomes they inhabit and get a richer understanding of the first people to shape American culture.
