- What's nano about bubbles? Have you ever noticed all of the colors in a bubble? The different colors are created because bubble film is only a few hundred nanometers thick, about the same size range as wavelengths of visible light. As the light passes through the film, it interacts in special ways, creating the rainbow of colors you see.
