This goal of this professional learning resource is to provide educators with tips and ideas on how to incorporate the Wonder Learning Strategy: "Stimulate the Imagination" into their practice. Educators determine when and how to incorporate the strategy and activities by aligning them to the standards they teach. It will take about one hour to read through it.

The strategy Stimulate the Imagination allows educators to inspire wonder and curiosity in their learners by incorporating practices typically used in other fields, such as literature and the arts, to explore phenomena. This article is divided into three parts:

  • Part 1: Engage and Explore

Learn how learners can display the attitudes of the Explorer Mindset by stimulating their imagination with the purpose of telling stories about a phenomenon.

  • Part 2: Learn by Doing

Learn how to select a phenomenon of interest, figure out a way for students to document it and tell stories about it.

  • Part 3: Reflect and Apply

Reflect on your teaching practice: how and when to use the strategy Stimulate the Imagination to bring back wonder and awe in your classroom.
